Walking, hiking and climbing

The reopening of the Rwenzori Mountains in 2000 has once again given hikers access to Africa's wildest and highest mountain range. A true mountain range, not of volcanic origin, the Rwenzoris contain Africa's third-highest peak, Margherita, at 5109 meters (16,860 feet). A trek here is not for the ill-prepared or faint-hearted - it is a grueling test of endurance through bush, bamboo, moorland, rock and ice, with a minimum time on the mountains of 7 days. However, once again, our guides (some of whom call the mountains their home) will ensure that your trek will be conducted with the maximum safety and satisfaction. We are also able to arrange the logistics for those keen on making an attempt on one of the peaks, an activity that involves technical climbing skills and logistics.
